Happy Christmas with The Wailers - 'She's Coming Home'

So. It's nearly Christmas and here is one of the best ever Christmas songs.

It's 'She's Coming Home' by The Wailers.. No, not those Wailers. This here is the 60's American garage band who came to nothing. They have a track on Nuggets, and an album that's not any good. But this track is something special. I play it all year long. So if you're reading this in July download it anyway.

Not too sure about this 60s jingly jangly nonsense. If I wanted to listen to a lesser take on The Byrds, I'd go the whole hog and cut my own head off.

On the other hand, up to episode 7 of The Wire now on your recommendation, and (somehow) you're spot on. It's the best tv I've seen in the last few years, no question. Even lovin' the way they've got some right shitty software on their computers (unlike all that bollocky 3d spinning fingerprint/satellite image stuff they have on CSI, and whatever).

"a lesser take on the Byrds?"

WHAAA?!?

Folks, the Wailers are THE premiere garage rawk / punk band of all time, the direct DNA precursor of the Stooges, Ramones, Sex Pistols, etc...

I can understand being stuck in the UK and growing up thinking that Wham! or Culture Club or even The Libertines are good, because when you're fed a steady diet of crap you eventually learn to enjoy it, right? But for goshsakes, you guys had the Kinks - you at least like them, right? Well, no Wailers, no Kinks.

Oh, and F the Beatles.
